Washington!

I finally made it to DC after the cancelled flight in February. Steffanie picked me up at the airport on Thursday evening and we headed to the Shirlington area for dinner. Margaritas were in order for the reunion!

Thursday night was spent at Steffanie’s condo in Shirlington with pints of Ben & Jerry’s and catching up on girl talk.

Friday was a gorgeous day, despite being quite warm. I got to take my first trip on the Metro, which was amazing! I love subways, etc. so it was great fun!

We spent the afternoon in Georgetown, doing some shopping and we met our fellow Indianian, Travis, for lunch. After Georgetown, we took the metro to Foggy Bottom to meet Joel, Steffanie’s gentleman friend, at his office. It was delightful to meet Joel after hearing amazing things about him for the past six months! We also met up with two of Steffanie’s co-workers from ASAE for a fun dinner at the PACKED Lauriol Plaza. Lots of chips and salsa and lots of laughs were had with amazing friends.

Saturday morning, my gracious hostess prepared yummy, fluffy pancakes before heading out to the zoo. That’s me on the left, with Steff, at the zoo!

It was another hot day and after a few hours roaming the zoo and watching the baby turtles and tigers, we were all ready for showers and to meet Joel’s friend and neighbor, Mike, for dinner. Joel took the Metro ride home to relax!

After a cat nap and clean clothes, we headed out to Old Town for dinner. The area was very packed, but we were able to get a table at an Italian place. Dinner was good, the company even better. After strolling Old Town, we returned to Mike’s apartment for some libations and Nintendo Wii! Luckily for me, Mike and I thoroughly enjoy each other’s company and he is now my boyfriend! :)
